Second Phase of Fieldwork Successfully Completed in the Köroğlu Mountains

Together with Selen Akçakoca, Ilgın Ertan Gürol, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Didem Ambarlı, we have successfully completed the second phase of our fieldwork in the Köroğlu Mountains (Bolu) as part of our TÜBİTAK-2247 funded project. During this phase, we established Malaise traps, pitfall traps, and acoustic recording devices across 20 distinct sampling sites.

In the coming days, we will retrieve our samples from these sites and extend our fieldwork to higher elevations, continuing to document the rich biodiversity of mountain ecosystems.

The project ultimately aims to monitor biodiversity in mountainous regions using next-generation methods and to assess the impacts of climate change on ecosystems, thereby contributing to the development of more effective biodiversity monitoring and conservation strategies.
